10 Years Ago Today...

My Heart Stretched further than I ever thought possible.

I had an idea what being a Mother would feel like but until it actually happened I couldn't believe how much I could love this little guy I had seen for just a few seconds.

Spencer came 3 weeks early and not by anyone's choice. June 8, 2000 I was told after seeing my Dr. to go straight over to the Hospital to not even go home to get my bags. I was experiencing Pre-eclampsia and had dangerous blood pressure & protein in my urine meaning my kidneys were not working. Then for a good 24 hours I was given doses of pitocin to get me in labor, as well as magnesium sulfate to keep me from seizuring that could be fatal to me and my baby. The only way to rid a body of pre eclampsia is the birth of the baby. My doc tried to let me have him naturally but after a full day of trying, my body was in great danger.

In my dazed state I don't remember much, but I know I was miserable & felt like I was on the verge of death. I remember hallucinating & telling my Mom to get the spiders off the ceiling. I remember seeing my dad & tim come into the room with tears in their eyes after talking to the doctor. Within minutes I was wheeled into the operating room, cut open & heard the best sound ever. My Spencer was born. They brought him around to me and I'll never forget what I saw: the most beautiful baby with his arms flung straight out sideways, his screaming red face. He was perfect in every way.

Spencer's birth literally saved my life that day & has changed it ever since. He is our firstborn for so many reasons & I thank him for taking on that responsibility. It's a big one-I should know.

The Best MISSIONARY

"Dear Mom and Dad I love you. When you be nice I love you more."
surgery on his broken arm -age 3 ½
This little (Big) Boy breaks my heart almost daily...usually in a good way. This year has been one where he has really had to get to know who he is and be proud of it. Spencer is a strong spirit and has a great mission here on the Earth...Something I've known since his birth & still today you can just feel it when you talk to him.

10. His desire to learn new things!
9. His hip hop/breakdancing moves & his beat-boxing, piano playing & speed reading abilities
8. His love of jokes & stories -telling & hearing them
7. His memory is amazing-{2 yrs ago he memorized a song naming all the U.S. Presidents}
6. He can really read people. He knows if they're being secretly deceitful, vicious & separates himself from them.
5. His unique personality. I love that you can't really pin him down saying he's "this" or "that"
4. He is a wonderful example to adults & kids alike. He tells friends openly what he believes.
3. His adventurous side. He always has had a lot of energy!
2. He is sensitive to people's feelings and things of a spiritual nature
1. His tender heart & genuine love for people

*Happy 10th Birthday Spence*

Home Safe and Sound-Round 2

Home again safe & sound. I will always be a tad nervous when Tim goes on these long scout camps because of what happened last year!

Being the Un-Camper that he is, Tim had a great time as he spent a week at the Scout Encampment. He came home with a strengthened testimony of the Gospel & a greater love & appreciation for our Stake/Ward Leaders & Young Men that he teaches.

Let's Make Ⓐ Deal

If you were watching this show recently & saw the cutest little "Deviled" Egg sitting right behind Wayne Brady's face, then you saw my adorably animated sister Steph. She was not chosen to "Make A Deal" but at least got her 15 minutes of 'somewhat' fame...At least we got to point and laugh at her for a good chunk of the hour!

Sara's Graduation!

The evening began with beautiful weather, a great sunset
& some funny people sitting around us.
The Graduates came into the football field
in their black & teal gowns.
We waved to Tim, Daylan & Jax as they stood outside the school gate.
Jax was sleeping & the crowd was too loud.
Spencer walked out to bring Daylan up to where we sat.
The program moved along okay...still slower than would've liked.
More funny people around us.
The people in front of us thought we laughed too much...
Dirty looks. But we didn't care.
Spencer 'kept accidentally spraying them with a spray bottle...Oops
More dirty looks.
Phylip sported the colors Black, Teal
....and Yellow-to match Jozie?
We were having a good time.
And so was our nose ring-dreadlock friend behind us.
He kept smiling for all my pictures.
Soon the moon started to appear & it was huge & red...
then it turned orange as it raised higher.
More names were called
& the moon became brighter yellow & higher yet.
Then as Kaylea followed along the program she said...
"Sara's name is coming up!"
We quickly got ready so we could do THIS:
And then the next BIG moment...The Cap Throwing!
We went down on the field to find our Sara-Beara.
Ironically we found her in on the field in front of the "S" in HAWKS.
She was beautiful as always.
Here she is with her 1st lei given to her by Ma & Pa.
She received two more candy bar leis from friends
...and then one from her beau Coe.
They are too cute together.
C's little bro & sis (shown here) even ADORE her.
Who doesn't?
Here are a few more people who do too.
*Cutie-Patooties*
In true Polynesian flavor they have their flower leis on here. -Coe's mom & sisters made them!-

Best Wishes Sare-Bear on the Rest of your Fantastic Life!

Jax's Birthday Activites

The weekend's events included:
Barros Pizza

Mall Play Area
....where we met Gma, Gpa & Lacey
Jax loved his pop-up toy from them
Jaxson 'kept getting down and crawling as fast as he could towards DQ!!
~Seriously he was making bystanders crack up...
So we gave in & he had his first taste of Ice Cream....
We got home just in time for bed. With his belly filled already with pizza & ice cream we waited till the next day to finish celebrating....
He Opened Presents
{A book, foam blocks, Elmo flip flops, a teddy bear from kaylea, new clothes}
The Cake Initiating
"Hmmm....what's this?"
Capturing the big moment: notice the hand on the hip as if she's a pro...
This was his first taste of sweets (besides the ice cream) & I think he liked it!
He took this cake business very seriously.
Presh...
Daylan & Kaylea helped out so willingly... Aren't they sweet.
Then it was clean up time!
Then to Gma & Gpa's House for Sunday Dinner to celebrate with more cake!
Gma & Gpa gave him a "phone" to talk to ethan/carson on & cute mini soft cars. He loved them.
This time around he was "civilized" & ate with a fork.

~Even yummier than the cake were his cheeks...and those irresistable blue eyes.~
