If Mom says "No"....

...then just poke a hole in it.
How do I discipline this?... when they look at me like that?

The Terrible & Wonderful 2's

Today Jax ran up & down the aisles of the Movie Theatre squealing as he ran from me. Of course I couldn't catch him.. I was so angry but found myself laughing & cursing (quietly) at the same time.

These are a few of his latest favorite things to do:
Helping Out..
Building  Towers

Sleeping smack in the middle of the bed...
Pretending HE is the baby...
Playing with his baby brother Ryler...

Making Mom Laugh...
"Oh Mom....                        You can't see me!"                    "Here I am!"

I LOVE THIS CRAZY 2 YEAR OLD KID!!

Tim's Knee Surgery...{July 22nd}

BEFORE:
"Hey it's just knee surgery. What's the big deal?"

AFTER:
(doped on morphine)
"Wow...this is Awful!.. Oh and where are my sunglasses?"
It was so horrible to see Tim in so much pain immediately after surgery. He was not conscious but was moaning in pain. I had the nurses give him a few more injections of morphine in his I.V. & he felt MUCH better.  ....BUT then the funnies began!
He insisted on wearing his sunglasses inside the Recovery Room which gave me & the nurse quite the chuckle. He looked like Stevie Wonder as he bobbed his head back and forth and said such funny things.   He told the nurse numerous times how important it was for him to wear his sunglasses since "his eyes were so sensitive from his 3 eye surgeries."
(..you had to be there.)
Tim also kept saying : "There has to be something the Doctor's not telling me." The nurse finally said "Ok Tim why don't you just relax and stop talking because you keep saying the same thing!" I busted up. Then doped up he started saying in his drunken slurred speech sweet things like: "Wow Audra, you stayed here my whole surgery....You're amazing."

--Oh good times, good times...--

Wish I had video-taped his silly moments.
Because they didn't last long! Getting him in the car was horrendous & so was the 30 minute drive home from the hospital. He was miserable, pale & on the verge of passing out and vomiting.

Let's just say it's been a long couple of weeks!!
**Tim's Surgery was actually really complex. It was 2 hours long & it involved first taking 4 tendons from his hamstring, braiding them together & creating him a new ACL. To get it placed correctly the Dr. had to drill into his tibia & femur bones. Ouch!**

This was taken at his first Physical Therapy appointment @ East Valley Physical Therapy. I HATE when people post gross bodily harmed pictures on their blog like THIS:
(Sorry had to document it for history's sake.)
He did get his leg shaved.. which was a first.

The 1st week was absolutely brutal!... Tears were shed by both of us. We were up all hours of night in pain, giving/taking meds & with the 2 little boys. He was in a lot of pain, needing lots of care & attention. Meanwhile kids start school. Was in survival mode.
The 2nd week he was limited to work about an hour a day, I chauffered him everywhere, His bruising was scary & he was still on percocet, aspirin & crutches.

The 3rd week Tim began driving (which was so helpful!), had a job interview, got the job & celebrated his 37th Birthday. Tim was down to one crutch. Spence began school this week...the same day that Tim spent his full first day back at work. I felt like I was sending another child off.

The 4th week he is now progressing well. He is walking free of crutches& seeing my Dad 3 times a week for Physical Therapy. Other than a funny little limp he has, he is pretty much back to normal. He still tries to walk at his normal fast pace which provides us all a chuckle.

Tim is now just literally Dreaming about the time when he can run up & down the BASKETBALL court again....but that won't be for AT LEAST another 6 months or so. I really am proud of how hard he has worked to get healed up to this point. He still has a long road ahead but it'll be worth it!

~We are just glad that his Surgery went so great
as is his Physical Therapy.
...He has a new knee & All is well.

It Never Ends...

I always wanted twins....
But NOT like this...
Both seem to be going through their terrible 2's & I'm going crazy!

~This particular instance Beamer had ran out into the garage (thanks to Jax opening the door for him) and Beamer had run his little paws into the grease on the garage floor. Before he could get grease anywhere I grabbed him & put him in the tub. I walked 3 steps to the cupboard to get the dog shampoo & before I could turn around I heard a "thud-splash!" There was Jaxson fully clothed in his outdoor attire, shoes & all standing  in bath water up past his ankles. He already had the dog brush in hand ready to help.

My theory =
Take a deep breath, Take a picture
& I'll laugh about it tomorrow....maybe.

To Laugh or To Cry...

Jaxson & Beamer=Partners In Crime
*I think Jax did the unrolling
& Beamer did the tearing & spreading.*
This could partly be why I'm so behind on blogging.

Motherhood=Dirty Windows

Having a 20 month old (& a dog) means having dirty windows....'nuff said.

Have I mentioned my house is for sale?
Windows included; Cute kid is not.
Dog?.... possibly.

Now that my nausea is officially gone...

...I hope to get caught up on this stinkin' blog. Posts really ARE coming! ...i think.

{* I never posted about Kaylea's birthday from September, or Halloween in October, And then just forget about Thanksgiving, Family Reunions, Kids Performances ....I'm so behind!}

Remember: "I'm a day late, A dollar short BUT I always seem to get there!"

Blog posts really help me keep my sanity. It's rewarding to see all the hard work of Motherhood pay off in the smiles on my kids faces as they experience the joys of Life!

This boy wears me out...

And this happens 3 times a day... & you should see the floor
Look at that grin on his face....
Skateboarding in the nude...
I LOVE THIS KID SO MUCH but I've never been so tired in my life....seriously!
At 15 ½ months here is a list of the good & the not so good:

*He says: "Tay- too" (thank you) when you give him something.
*He takes off his diaper & runs around laughing.
*He says: "Yuckkkkkkkkk..." (gurgling sound) whenever I'm changing a stinky diaper of his.
*He climbs up onto the kitchen table at least 10 times daily--He goes up there to find leftover food or to run around on it & tries to jump off. (He will be our million dollar child with all the bones he will break.)
*He also climbs on top of the piano & upstairs climbs on top of the couch and onto the stair railing...
*He likes to stand on a stool in Kaylea's room & watch her pet frog jump around & eat crickets in the fish tank. He squeals with excitement!
*He loves popsicles...which is always so fun to clean up.
*He counts to 3...   "Uh....Doo...Dee" (& then expects you to tickle him on 3)
*He digs in the Garbage cans to see what great things he can find-usually food scraps...gross!
*He insists on eating everything himself with no assistance...refer to picture #1
*He can sense when anyone is sad & will go lay his head on your stomach until he thinks you are happy....Breaks my heart every time!
*He makes this horrifically loud noise when he's mad, wants attention or simply wants to hear his own voice.
*He runs down the hall yelling his great noise when his Dad is on the phone working...Customers love it I'm sure.
*He figured out how to open the side door that goes outside & runs straight to the street! Scary!
*He can hear running water from across the house & runs super speed to it. He LOVES faucets! He will awake each morning to the sound of Tim's bathroom sink. He slides out of our bed (because he of course slept in it from 1am on) & will run over to the sink waiting for Tim to set him up next to the running water. He then proceeds to get the brush wet & do his own hair. It is hilarious! It is his FAVORITE thing to do.
Notice the wet hair & brush in hand
Man I love this kid!

Time Management...

...Is something I'm not very great at... {which my husband reminds me of often.}

What can I say? I get sidetracked....easily. Between laundry, playing tickle with my babies, cleaning toilets, making crafts...whatever it is I get sidetracked. I have a problem with finishing a task.. For example I have over 10 posts in my blog that are "drafts" & not yet published. {I start a bajillion tasks in the day & yet at the end feel as if I really did hardly anything.} Confession: Sometimes I don't make my bed in the morning because I like it made a certain way. If I don't feel like I have the time or energy to make it perfect...I don't make it at all. Koo koo I know.

Reading this post from an old neighbor & friend Heather, reminded me that really it's more important to get things DONE rather than to get them PERFECT! A great reminder for me! Makes me think of the Quote on my SIDEBAR: "A Day Late, A Dollar Short...but I Always seem to get there."~Audra Campbell  {And I do usually get there.} Like this craft board I was supposed to make 8 months ago at Enrichment that Tim said I would never get done....just finished this week & it's dang cute. So I do get 'em done but why not sooner & a perhaps a little less cute.

I need to try harder. I guess it's okay to be a dollar short but I will definitely work on the 'day late' part. I also think of the talk from Elder Dallin H. Oaks entitled: Good, Better, Best! Thinking of that phrase more often should help me to prioritize a little bit better.-And remembering that the most important 'work' is done in the home raising our little ones.

So here's to accomplishing MORE {of the good stuff} even though it might be a little less PERFECT than I want it to be. {you might be seeing 10 halfway cute posts very soon.}

*How do YOU manage your time? Any pointers?...

Something to think about:

~I think one of the plagues of Our Day is that as a whole we strive so much to look & act like celebrities in the magazines & movies. Why are they our role models to how we should look or should have our hair or how we should dress?...the purse we should carry or the shoes we should wear.

....And boy when they talk we LISTEN to them, WATCH them & then of course COPY them! Remind you at all of the term graven images? Isn't our culture in a way worshiping these people? Isn't our culture taking & quoting the words that these celebrities say as if it were practically scripture!?...and of course following them more than actual scripture. Let's not forget the mindset of our liberal country today & remember how we got here...Uh hem...Yes Hollywood.

~Let's not also forget to mention that these are probably some of the most CoNfuSed people on earth! Sure they might have fabulous hair, clothes & accessories, BUT just because they're  SMILING on the red carpet does that mean they are truly HAPPY? No. Then why are we striving so hard to emulate them? Because we want our hair, nose, lips to look like the girl on the magazine cover? Why do we let them tell us what our society must be like? C'mon we're smarter than this!....aren't we?

*And just so we all remember that even celebrities are Human! Click here for some pictures!

Hey if we all had personal trainers, chefs, cosmetic surgeries, legendary makeup artists, expensive makeup & designer clothes wouldn't we all end up looking "that" way. But is that really what we want? I think not!-although the adversary might lead us to believe so & often I think we fall for it. Especially us girls & women who are bombarded with images of what we should ...I mean must look like.
*Does this become a priority in our lives to become this ideal image?

What are your thoughts?

*Take time to smell the "roses!"

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
*When you looked at this picture what did you see FIRST?...be honest.; the flowers or the fast paced city life. I think we can all agree that we live in a busy, always moving, changing world! Sometimes I know I am so focused on what I have to or just want to do, that I forget to stop and look right in front of me at the "roses."
Things like: my kids laughing as they wrestle together, the smell of the crisp fall air, the smile from my new neighbor, the chirping birds, sweet Spencer telling the same joke for the 5th time, Daylan's attempt to go on the toilet & his scrunchie eye smile, my husband's offer to rub feet, Kaylea's 7th picture of the day she drew just for me; All the things I LOVE yet might look past! Not to mention all our daily gifts from God that we can't see because our vision is so out of focus! *I will try this next week to FOCUS on the important things that are right in front of me!

*Desk Update

*Ok this is my last desk post for a while. My paper pile did go down on the left, although the box of tapes are still there. *My theory is if I don't see something as an everyday reminder, than I forget to do it. This desk dillema is getting better
...believe it or not!

*Desk Update

*Embarassing!*

Well another Friday morning has come around & here it is...starting to build up again! Aaahhhhh!! Not to make excuses..but it looks worse than it is. That box on the right is of home videos I got out yesterday to convert to DVD's & then that weird thing on the left with a face is "a witch" I just bought as a Halloween decoration. (Not that you really care..but look at my last Fri. morning post & see how the desk changed in just one week!)

*Desk Update

-Ok so I took a picture like I promised this morning since it's Friday. Not too much changed since last week. So really the only difference is that my pile of paper's is a little higher on the left & my video camera's on there. (The stack of cd's is still hiding behind the still-broken computer.) I really think this is helping, knowing that I have to document it every week. Boring for you; Helpful for me:)

*The Desk Dilemma

*Ok so you're wondering why the heck I have a picture of my kitchen desk on here...

-This is terrible, but this is probably the cleanest it's been since we've moved in. Notice there still is a pile of papers (on the left) that I don't know what to do with & there are a pile of cd's hiding behind the computer screen.(mac still broken.)The reason it's even this clean, is cuz I had people over last night for dinner. Pathetic I know! I wish I had a "before" picture so you all could recognize my issue. So I will take a pic every Friday morning no matter what to document my progress or failure.:/
