How come my 2 year old is always the one cooperating in pictures?
~When we got home from church & out of the car we saw the saddest thing. A nest had fallen off our roof, and there were feathers and sticks all over the ground. At first I was mad that ourcourtyard was a mess but then I saw the broken egg that had splattered. The mother bird was down there accessing the "accident." She flew back up to where the nest had been. These are pictures of us upstairs looking out at the mother bird & her "used-to-be" nest. The kids were really upset that the baby bird would not be born and felt sad for the mommy. We talked about death and reiterated what we had learned that day about Jesus & how he overcame death so we can all live again.
*For Easter Dinner we went to my parents house & celebrated their 30th Anniversary! (-post below) I made them a fun little DVD filled with pictures & special songs from over the years.
*Earlier that morning we found that the Easter Bunny Came!
*Earlier that morning we found that the Easter Bunny Came! The kids woke up excited to see their baskets full of candy & surprises. My favorite thing we received was the Christ & the children picture.

I love the pic of your kids with bed bead, in their "jammies", scrounging through their baskets. The only time little kids are that cute, that early in the morning is on a holiday!
FYI---thanks for the sad bird story downer! At least you were able to use it as a teaching opportunity. You could have spared the rest of us though!!!!!! :)

ok so i know the egg story was gross! i just thought it was so weird that it had happened while at church after learning about death...ok i'm weird.
You aren't weird! That is perfect for the kids to learn about death! I thought you guys were in Laguna for Easter. Did you come back on saturday? You should have come over for Easter dinner!

Oh how cute their outfits are! Lookslike they really understood the message of Easter. Kids learn so much better when they can see and understand. And really, did you want that birdie coming back and nesting there again...remember all the birdie poop.
