We're in Laguna and Tim's reading to Spencer before bed and again another semi loose tooth is pulled and gone!! The spaces in his mouth are growing!

*Spencer Loses A Tooth
~So the kids are in our bed the other night before bed and Tim's reading to them when all the sudden Spencer says "Hey I think I have a wiggly tooth.." Within 60 seconds he pulls the deep rooted baby tooth out himself and says "I got it!" No wonder that kid has always lost his fallen teeth in the past..Those babies just get loose and then are outta there!
.
~And is there anything cuter than kids grown-up teeth trying to find their place in such a small mouth! So funny! Spence is lovin the fact that he can stick his tongue in between all these spaces between his teeth.

*Happy 15th Birthday Phylip!
Ok so you all know that I see Birthdays as being good for two things. Bragging about that person & also embarassing them. So hopefully I accomplish both in this next post.:

*Phyl's always been a Mama's boy and would always give Mom a hug no matter what his age. (I hope my boys will be like that.)
*The best thing about Phylip though is how nice he is. He is a genuine friend to everybody and has never had the typical rude teenager antics. He has many friends and from what I hear is the life of the party. Phyl has a great sense of humor and one thing that comes to mind is his talent show performance & reenactment of Napoleon Dynamite's dance.
*Phylip has a strong testimony of the gospel as is displayed in his actions and sweet writings. Recently he wrote this on his blog regarding the pioneer trek they just took:
"Not only have I gained a better understanding of their (pioneer) sacrifices but I've gained a stronger testimony of the gospel. I am so glad that I went, and I can feel the change that has happened in me. I think of my life as if it were a sculpture.... and it's the important moments in your life, or your good or bad actions, that change, shape, or mold you into what you're going to become in the future. and I can say without a doubt, this.. has become one of those shaping moments."
Wow huh? 15 years old! Does it get any more impressive than that? Have I embarassed you yet Phyl??

*THE BABY OF THE CURTIS FAMILY*
~we definitely would not be complete without him!~
*My baby brother Phylip turns 15 today!! I was 14 years old when he was born so last year was neat as I was 28 (double his age ) and he actually turned 14-the age I was when he was born. He was 5 when I went off to college and it was hard to not see him grow up for a time. I'll never forget though when Tim & I were dating, Phylip would come running in and jump on Tim's lap gigglin' like a little kid...okay he was a little kid. I remember that Phyl was baptised the same day as Spencer's 1st Birthday Party. Funny to think he was the age Spencer is now when I already had a 1 year old. I'm glad to live down here now so I can feel just a little bit more apart of his growing up years.
Some wonderful things we love about Phylip:
*Phyl's always been a Mama's boy and would always give Mom a hug no matter what his age. (I hope my boys will be like that.)
*Phylip is so super talented! He is so awesome on the piano♬that it's not even fair. He's already way passed me up! He has an amazing ear and can play practically anything he hears like his brother tommy. He plays a bunch of songs off the radio just as good as the pianist on the radio such as: "had a bad day", "100 years to live", "not gonna write you a love song", "let it be" and more.
*Phyl is equally as good as an ✍artist. Two of his recent drawings of my brother danny & the late Pres. Hinckley. He is also a sculptor and has made many clay creations that are so cool! He's made many action & scripture hero figures, along with a bust of Daylan's head.
*Phylip is a great Uncle! The kids just LOVE him! For example the first thing that Spencer said when he opened his birthday present the other day was: "Phylip's gonna love this!" Here's a picture from a few years ago or so as he teaches Spence & Kaylea the art of video games.

*Double The Blessings*
~Last Sunday we were blessed to attend the Baby Blessings of two sweet little ones. Here is my sister Stephanie & Marcus' little guy
Carson Curtis Goodwin. Isn't he precious?! They were able to have the blessing at my parents home and there were many family and friends there for the occasion. I was asked to say the opening prayer & blessing on the food. I hardly made it through the prayer as I blubbered my way through it. Gosh I'm emotional these days..but look at this kid!..How couldn't you be?

~Earlier that morning we attended another ward. This was the blessing of Tiffany & Jason's adorable little
Elsie Rose Check. It was neat for Tim to be able to participate in 2 Priesthood Blessings in one day of niece & nephew. The irony of it all is that these two babies Mama's were in labor at the same time miles apart and then were actually born weeks apart. We are glad that both families were here in Gilbert that day so we could celebrate both.

*Spencer is 8!

.
.
~8 years ago today my whole world changed. I had dangerous blood pressure with my preeclampsia and after having had pitocin & morphine given to me simultaneously for a full day there was no success. In fact it was getting quite scary. All I cared about was having my little Spencer safe and sound...and of course living through the ordeal. Soon the decision was made and I was wheeled into emergency surgery. Spencer Gordon Campbell was born via emergency C-section. I will never forget his scared little face as he entered this world. His arms flung out in pure fright. But the moment they put him to my face he stopped crying and I saw the boy I know that I knew from long ago. My Spencer was finally here! I felt like I had waited all my life for him.

*8 great things we love about SpEnCeR:
1) He is a friend to all. He makes everyone feel like they are his best friend....literally!!
Kids at school would come up to me and say that Spencer was their best friend..and these were kids I never even knew. Spence is genuine and I think people can sense that.
2) He is super smart..reading at a 5th grade level. His memory is so amazing. He'll say Mom remember last year in 1st grade when I learned about the Roman army....& then he will tell me some specific fact. Most times I have no recollection of what he's talking about... & I was his actual teacher!
3) He is talented at whatever he tries to do. So many things come naturally to him..almost too naturally that he doesn't want to practice any of them.:/ His musical ability brightens my heart. I love to hear him sing. When he was 2 years old he would sing in perfect pitch any song I taught him.
4) He has a tender heart and is so kind. If he ever hurts some bodies feelings he most likely has done it on accident. He cares about others & wants all to be included.
5) He is very giving and is always wanting to help others. He prays every day for the "poor people and people that are sad."
6) He has great faith. If I really need some extra faith or encouragement I go to my son. Spencer is definitely an example to his parents. His testimony is strong of spiritual matters & is in tune with the spirit.
7) Spencer is a great big brother. Kaylea says " I love that Spencer teaches me how to be smart like him...like to read and stuff....and he gives me some of his Pokemon cards."
8)He has a great sense of humor. Spencer has always made us laugh. From his joke telling by age 2, his belief that he can yodel, how his tongue sticks out when he's really concentrating.
~Ok so I know all parents think they're kids are the greatest & my opinion is biased but I really believe Spencer is on the earth to do great things. When he was 3 & 4 years old he used to say "When I grow up I want to be a Dad, a Bishop, & the Prophet!" Oh My!! Funny words coming out of a 3 year old's mouth. He also told me he would like to be a doctor, a pirate, a weatherman, a vet and the president of the United States. He came up with this idea that he could do all of them at the same time and just do each one a different day of the week. Lofty goals there son!
~My eyes get teary just looking at these pictures of my boy.. I have to say I feel honored to be his Mother and am overwhelmed yet overjoyed that Heavenly Father has entrusted him in my care.
**Happy Birthday Spence!! WE LOVE YOU!!**
(here's a fun little clip from when he was just 2 1/2 singing at the piano)

*"Auntie Mama" sees her boys
.
~ My sister Steph & Marcus and their boys Ethan & Carson arrived last week and we have loved having seen and hung out with them. We sure have missed their family as they've been in Idaho the last year & a half. Thank goodness for blogging, I felt I already knew little Carson as I held him for the 1st time!
~When they first got here Ethan had on a continuous smile! It melted my heart. He is almost 2 and is practically as tall as Daylan. If he likes something he says .."Cool." Carson is now 3 months and is sweet as pie. He cooed a lot and was so cuddly. I love his little nose flares & "good & plenty" candy shaped toes...I could just eat 'em. He does have a good set of lungs on him too!!
~I have always thought of myself as a typical, nurturing mother
figure to children in general. But I have to say, there's nothing like your sisters' kids. I seriously could take them as my own today without skipping a beat.
~My kids all loved playing together with those boys and I'm sure they will miss playing with their Goodwin cousins. They left early yesterday morning and are back in Idaho now. We will sure miss them. Hopefully we'll see them sooner than later. Come back soon boys to see your "Auntie Mama!"

*Saturday Dialogue
Audra: "I'm having one of those depression days."
Tim: "Why what's wrong?"
Audra: "Don't even go there."
Tim: Laughter... "uh.. okay"
Audra: Delayed Laughter
*I had to laugh realizing at how dumb that conversation went...especially when I was the one who brought it up. Being a girl is so hard sometimes. We have too many emotions!..especially this girl.

*Happy Birthday Cooper

*Cousin Cooper turned 11 today! He has such a distinctly unique and fun personality! Cooper is always full of energy and excitement. There is usually a joke to be told right around the corner and he keeps the mood light and the laughs a comin'.

One of my favorite things about Cooper is that he never hesitates in giving out hugs. He can be both "cool" and yet still go and give his Mom a great big hug. Cooper is one neat kid and we wanted to wish him a very Happy Birthday!!
*Also...today marked Great Grandma Porter's 90th Birthday!! Happy Birthday to her.. Lucky us we got to see both Birthday-ers today.

♪ Spencer's Piano Recital ♪
~Spencer had his 1st Piano Recital tonight. He has been taking piano from my friend Jeni this school year and he has learned a lot. Spence was definitely ready for lessons and she did a great job teaching him. (He would have never listened and learned like that from his mom...) Spence memorized and performed these 2 songs: "Indian Song" and "Willie and Tillie".♬ Good Job Spence! Here's a little diddy of the performance:

☆Dance Recital☆
"The Way You Do The Things You Do."
~She had a little stage fright the first 10 seconds or so and then got into it. It has been so funny to see this girl learn what and where her hips are and that she can shake them. It's the cutest and funniest thing you've ever seen! ~Kaylea's brothers Spence and Dude gave her these pretty flowers. It was so sweet to see her little proud face when the show was over...you know that "I'm trying not to smile too big face." Great Job Kay-Kay! We love you!
