Day's day

*A few days ago I, Daylan turned 3
Look how we celebrated this special day for me.
I was a little sick but tylenol got me through
so I could still be happy on this day I was not 2.
I opened presents, many puzzles I did get
We were in California visiting grandparents.
The chocolate cake my Dad made was delicious on my tongue.
My cousins and I played balloon games that were fun.
We went down to the beach and I dug in the sand,
I can't believe I'm 3 now,
I'm practically a man!

David Archuleta~"Be Still My Soul"

**David Archuleta (Post-American Idol) singing for a school of troubled-youth.
(pause side music)

"Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav'nly Friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end."

~I could listen to this all day! His voice is so amazing & to hear him sing one of my favorite hymns " Be Still My Soul" is a treat. Things have been hard for me lately in various ways and as I listen to this song I am given much peace. It reminds me of the scripture in the Doctrine & Convenants when the Lord spoke to Joseph Smith:

"....peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine affliction shall be but a moment; And then if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; ...Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands."
D&C 121:7-9

~I definitely am blessed with friends and loved-ones who stand by me through harder times.
Enjoy the Music!

A Strong Woman~Emma

~A few weeks ago was a rarity as my Mom, me and my 3 sisters were all together. We had a girls afternoon and we went out to lunch & then on to see the movie out "Emma Smith~My Story." I had cried off all my makeup by the end of the movie and my sister even said I was crying out loud..(but I don't remember that.) Anyways the point is that it was a great little movie that shows life of Joseph and Emma Smith together from her perspective. It doesn't go in to much detail about certain aspects of some things but definitely gives you an idea of what she went through as the wife of Joseph. I surely see her as one who suffered so much and was given many trials as were prophets of old. She was not perfect and made mistakes, but I will tell you this that I honor her for the many, many things that she did as a mother, a wife, & a strong woman who did SO much for the church and sacrificed more than any other member I've ever heard of before. The very end of the movie displayed these final words that Emma spoke before her death which were..."Joseph, Joseph, I'm Coming!"

*Happy Father's Day

To the Fathers in our Lives...THANK YOU for all you've given us, all you are and all you do.

They watch us and protect us,
They guide us and direct us

*Happy 3rd Birthday Dude!

(I stole this sweet slideshow from my brother Phylip's blog that he made for Day on his bday. Thanks Bro!)

I can't believe my baby is 3!

Daylan went through a messy face stage...

(here displayed is sand, cake and pudding)

*Oh my little Daylan boy. I can't believe my baby is 3! The years just keep going faster and faster. 3 years ago this morning my little Dude, Daylan Curtis Campbell was born. He was anxiously awaited by his brother and sister. Everything went perfectly this time and this was my 1st and much needed perfect delivery story. He has been such a joy and has given us many smiles & laughs along the way.

*Some things we LOVE about our Dude!*

*Daylan is a snuggler. There is nothing better than at the end of the day when Day will just snuggle with us and say "Dad let's play tittle (tickle) on the bat (back)" or when he kisses me and says "Mom, I love you too much!" He likes to play with my hair as you can see in this video below. (I had just gotten out of the shower, so I'm all gross but I wanted to show how sweet he is at night before bed.)

*Dude is in a stage where he loves
puzzles and is really very good at them. Him and I have done this huge animal puzzle hundreds of times! He also is potty training now and it seems like when we're going to be at home for the whole day, we'll just keep him like this in his underwear. He loves that feeling of being free! I thought this photo displayed both well.

*He definitely inherited the "Campbell pout." Although I don't love his tantrums & temper, I do love that he tries to stay mad even when he doesn't want to. You can't help but laugh when you see it which in turn just makes him more mad. He will usually respond "Mom, stop lapping!!"(laughing)

*Daylan always will stick up for his brother and sister. He will ALWAYS take their side with anything and let me or anyone else know why they are the ones who are right! He thinks the world of spencer & kaylea.

*Daylan has a love of learning. He learns new things quickly whether it be sports, ABC, colors, numbers. He tries to keep up with bro and sis.

*When he was a baby he had the baldest head, chubbiest cheeks and biggest smile as you can see in this picture. One of my favorite quotes is: "I always dreamed of falling in love with tall, dark and handsome; yet ended up falling in love with short, chubby and bald." That definitely fits with this little guy.

*Happy 3rd Birthday Day-Day!*

*We LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!*

*The Birthday Party

how many boys can you fit on a teeter totter?

more water balloons please!

getting wet
how many kids can you fit on the swingset?

spencer's favorite: present time
We kinda had a last minute friend party to celebrate Spencer's 8th birthday. We had over 8 boys plus a couple cousins & siblings added in there. Yea it got a little crazy but it went great. Tim BBQed & the kids played for hours on end. They played some "sprinkler basketball" & lots of water balloon games. I found that if you give boys some Dippin Dots & water balloons that they can keep busy for hours. It was a great bunch of boys too. (There was only one of 'em I could've done without;) Spence wanted to have over the kids he enjoys most..a managerie of kids from school, church, neighborhood, basketball and some cousins. It was a great time & the best part was that my kids slept so good that night from being so tired!
