*Wisdom Teeth Out!

OUCH!!!

~OK so after one of my wisdom teeth basically began crumbling apart around New Years, I decided it was finally time to get my other 2 wisdom teeth out. So I did it! Dr. Johansen who I highly recommend, (a friend of the family's), took them out yesterday.
~They put me under anesthesia & when I came out of it, and after I was put safely in the car, my Mom started laughing at me. She asked me if I was going to put my teeth under my pillow. I'm all: "What are you talking about Mom?" She said that in my drunken state of mind, I guess I asked them if I could keep my teeth. How weird is that?? Actually I believe it because if you all know me well enough..I save EVERYTHING! Do any of you remember me trying to convince the doctors to let me save my tonsils!?
~Anyways so here they are. Disgusting I know!! He told me these teeth had super long roots which touched many nerves, so it was extra painful. I've had pain on my left side of my neck, shoulder, head & behind the ear. I also had to get a couple stitches in my mouth as well. So I'm on my Hydrocodone, Advil & Tylenol and still recovering. At least I've got something to show for it-Right?

Those are gross. I'm sorry you had to get that done. I got mine out Senior year in HS. So I'm glad that's over with and I'm really glad they put you completely out. I only remembered taking two steps into the house and then waking up on the couch. Other than that a complete blur.

I still need to have mine out. I had an appointment for Nov 2006, but then I got stuck in SC trying to adopt Molly. Then I had an appt for May, but then I found out I was prego ... I guess I'll have to keep waiting. My bottoms ones are showing & I'm afraid they're rotting my other teeth. Anyways, one of these days when I'm not nursing, pregnanct or caring for a newborn, I'll get it done. I better do it in the next 15 months while I can do it for free!! Joel had his taken out 5-6 years ago ... we were married. I remember picking him up and wanting to cry cause he was acting so strange. I remember him walking through the grocery store acting like a mentally handicap person and making weird noises. He doesn't remember it. :)

Audra ~ I haven't checked on your blog in such a long time... Sorry I haven't wished you a speedy recovery yet!! Hope you feel better soon. I wish that I had saved my wisdom teeth - thanks for posting a pic... I've never actually seen what they look like. They are interesting! Dr. J was my dr when I got mine out back in HS. I guess when I was coming to, I was really woozy and drooling all over the cute assistant, thinking he was the cutest guy ever. (I won't say who he was...) So I know how you feel when you don't know what you did or said... funny! Hope you get well soon.
