*Going To California To Get Green!

With Gas costing
an Arm & a Leg....

...it motivated us to make a decision
that Kermit would be proud of...

~Tim & I have really been contemplating this decision of what to do with our vehicles for a while. We LOVED Our Escalade, but it was of course getting RIDICULOUS gas mileage. With gas prices so insane and bound to get worse, lowering our monthly payment & also getting that good feeling that you're helping the environment when driving a Hybrid were some of our reasonings...So we took the Plunge!
Photobucket ~We wanted to get some kind of Hybrid SUV, Crossover or Car, but found that there really are hardly any available in AZ for 1, & for 2 even if you do find it does it have the options you want etc. We didn't want to pay extra or wait for one to be ordered either.

~Long story short, California had many more options and was willing to give us a good deal on a car and a decent amount for our trade in. (Plus, the city we found it in was just a ways from Tim's parents home in Laguna, so we would get to see them as well.) We drove to southern Cal & ended up driving home with the Nissan Altima Hybrid. It can get AWESOME gas mileage-even up to 700 miles (city driving) to our tank. It has surprisingly some good "punch" to it & when the electric engine turns on it feels like I'm driving a golf cart but with a great turning radius!

~So in the end we are VERY glad with our decision & although we miss the space among other things with our SUV, we are glad we made the change. And just to answer everyone's worries....We've been asked probably 10 times so far.."BUT where would you put a baby in that car.." Well guess what people? There is no baby...or at least any time soon..and by that time Tim's truck lease would be up anyways & we'd get something else. Uh..hem....
So now that that's all cleared up...

to trade our SUV for a Hybrid Car*

Congrats on the new car, that is exciting! I do have to say you are right that Kaylea does indeed look dead when she sleeps, that is funny! Also so awsome that Spence made a basket at the game, that is impressive. Skyler is in Karate, but it is like pulling teeth getting him to go. He begged me to sign him up for it too, but after the first week he said he was done, I told him he had to go casue I already paid for the 6 months, he was mad and told me, "Well I didn't know karate involved discipline." It was pretty funny! Ok well my comment is way to long, I love you, you should drive that hybid over to Buckeye sometime!!!!!!!!!!!!

giving up the suv is never fun, but the gas bill does make it a lot easier!

GO AUDY! I am totally into doing whatever we can to take care of our beautiful planet. We have not gone Hybrib but I have thought about it. My only thing is the "room for a baby". I would hate to "take the plunge" and then have to UNtake it. :)

mikelle there are plenty of good SUV vehicles that are hybrid so if you got that you wouldn't have to "untake it.":) and you are way better at all this with your garden and stuff...someday!
